Oh my aching head!
Do you suffer from headaches? I have had frequent headaches for years and have always relied heavily on Tylenol or ibuprofen for relief.
There are times that I have had headaches so severe that neither of those medicines would come close to bringing any relief.
I will never forget a few years ago I had a head ache so severe that I walked from the newspaper office that I worked in to the little neighborhood pharmacy next door looking for something to help.
The dear pharmacy assistant told me about MigraSpray. It seemed pricey but I was desperate. My daughter was due to play in a championship basketball game in less than an hour and the thought of being in a noisy gymnasium as bad as I was already feeling made me cringe. I threw down the cash and gave this crazy spray a try. I knew the pharmacy tech personally and she assured me that it worked and that it wouldn't hurt me.
To my amazement and my delight, it did work. My headache was totally gone within 20 minutes or so. Do I know how it worked? No. There is some science for it and you can read more about it here.
I do know that it is all natural and contains the herb FeverFew. I am one that doesn't want to take anything stronger than a Tylenol and will go for all natural remedies over drugs any day.
Because it is pricey compared to popping a couple of acetaminophen tablets, I try to reserve it for those rarer headaches I have where nothing else seems to work. So far, it has came through.
Another all natural remedy I have found that helps tremendously with headaches and particularly sinus headaches is called WellPatch.
It is a Migraine Cooling Patch. It is lightly scented with menthol and lavender oil. It is safe to use with other medication such as Advil or Motrin. You simply peel off the backing and place the patch on your forehead. They are also great if you have a fever. You may look a little odd wearing a patch on your head so I usually reserve those for use at home but back in my days at the newspaper office I could be found at my desk with one on my head.
Headaches are no fun and I know there are many folks who suffer from them far worse than I. Perhaps these small remedies will help you. My little neighborhood country pharmacy usually has both in stock but I have not found them at the chain drug stores like CVS. Amazon does have them both and at a significantly lower cost than buying them over the counter. As I live out in the country (or as I call it the boogerwoods) and the closest department store is nearly 20 miles away, I have not checked them for availability or pricing.
If you have found any good headache helps aside from sending your boss to Mexico or your inlaws to Alaska, I would love to hear about them.
