Easy Meatloaf Recipe
Are you a meat and taters kind of family? My husband certainly likes for our meals to be centered around a meaty substance.
I found ground chuck on sale at Sam's Club a few weeks ago and bought a good bit to freeze for spaghetti, soups, taco's and such like but wanted to use some fresh for a good old fashioned meat loaf.
I found this recipe amongst my piles of recipies and thought I would try a different recipe than the old tired meatloaf I have made for years.
It was a hit with the family and the teenager has requested I make it again soon.
This is a no-fail meatloaf that calls for ground beef, onions, egg, milk and bread. It is topped with a mix of brown sugar, mustard and ketchup before baking.
EASY MEATLOAF WITH BROWN SUGAR GLAZE
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 egg
1 onion, chopped
1 cup milk
1 cup dried bread crumbs
salt and peper to taste
2 tablespooons brown sugar
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
1/3 cup ketchup4
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. In a large bowl, combine the beef, eff, onion, milk and bread OR cracker crumbs. (I actually used stuffing mix). Season with salt and pepper to taste and place in a lightly greased 5x9 inch loaf pan, OR form into a loaf and place in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
3. In a seperate small bowl, combine the brown sugar, mustard and ketchup. Mix well and pour over the meatloaf.
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
